As I remember, they also receive a $5000. 00 benefit for travelling maybe, from one court to another. I beleive there are some other perks in there also in the form of $. And since there is SO much that goes before "Mediation" judges hear less and less cases. I don't think the economy of Louisiana can support another income increase for judges. There are thousands and thousands employed by the court system. Our state doesn't have the money. They work limited days and limited hours. That's why it takes so long to go through the legal system. When they work longer and harder, then raises should be considered. And what does it matter whom they are compared to? There doesn't seem to be a shortage or people willing to run for the judgeships.
