Yeah, really, manufactured indignation over a paper reporting on companies that are or likely to be seriously polluting our air and water. How sad. I consider this a public service, one that too few media outlets are brave enough to tackle. It's downright shameful that so many violations of the CWA and CAA are going on. Anything for a few extra bucks. - Resident

Right on RC! The Independent and their ilk are nothing but "watermelons" (green on the outside red on the inside). Their only motivation is the continued collapse of the American economy. If we could just get rid of all these damn regulations we could maybe even get the Cayuhoga river to burn again...what a victory for us all that would be! - roughbeast

Oh, so these companies, which the IND is evidently happy to publish, may not be guilty of any violations what-so-ever!

Good job, IND. Right along with NPR, whose goals seems to be to smear the entire petro-chemical industry. - RCajunrunner

The Don was unaware Union Carbide had a facility in Louisiana. He hopes they monitor that plant better than the one they had in Bhopal. - Don Corleone
