Congratulation UL team! It's a beautiful home, solidly made and should be very energy efficient. The exterior will be corrugated metal and cypress, which gives a nod to the local building materials, while providing a modern living space. The layout, materials and workmanship are high quality and you can tell the students put their hearts in it. The mix of architectural styles makes downtown neighborhoods interesting to me. Would love to see more affordable green homes. - Ann B

I think the house is well designed/well thought out and for the list price, the buyer will be fortunate to live in such an open, inviting and beautiful home. I especially enjoyed the open floor plan, full size baths (for BOTH bedrooms), large windows, and outdoor spaces including the private porch in the back of the home. Congratulations to those who have worked so hard to put together this home. - Catherine Guidry

If they really wanted to build a solid "green home" they would have built it out of ICF's (insulated concrete forms). They are solid and extremely energy efficient. - Mah Nà Mah Nà - Do doo be-do-do

Ryan: no pix bc you would see how it does not blend at all in this historic neighborhood. The neighborhood has seen a lot of historical revitalization already. There are tax breaks for historic preservation in this neighborhood. Perhaps the real goal is to infuse some ultra modern to destroy efforts to get protective historic district protection? Why has the LPTFA tried to avoid public meetings and do things by written unanimous consent instead? (See Attorney General letter 04.18.11) And where is their website so we can compare the mission that Gjertsen? - historyonyx

To AN open house. The awkwardness of where apostrophes should be placed in the next sentence (Gjertson's, students') could be alleviated by ". . . is the brainchild of . . . ."

That is all.
