I am not catholic, but when I read the Advertiser article I thought it was about a catholic bishop, until almost the end. I guess in hindsight, catholic clergy are not allowed to marry, so they cannot possibly have beaten their wife. - Fernwood Tonight

I read that article and never once thought of catholic vs.anti-catholic... I did think about the fact that the judge rendered the right decision, at least in my opinion. Some people go around looking for things to make themselves miserable! - Yadumonde

This is one of the dumbest comments I have ever read on this site. Thank God the Independent is moving to Facebook comments. The people who work for the Advertiser are just as "Catholic" as the people who work for any other institution in South Louisiana. And the term "bishop" has not been trademarked by the Catholic Church. Some people just walk around life looking for things to take offense at. - nobody

I like the Independent’s title better than the Daily Advertiser’s, which displays its blatant anti-Catholic stance for all to see. The Advertiser’s article is titled “Local bishop acquitted of domestic battery charge”, which is meant to subliminally associate impropriety against the Catholic Church. I mean, whoever heard of a Protestant Bishop? Whenever the titles Priest, Bishop, Cardinal or Pope are spoken of everyone associates it with the Catholic Church.

Now that “Bishop” Harmon has been deemed reasonably not guilty, will he self-elevate himself to the title of “Pope”?
