To Mr. Cain... I would urge you to do a bit of research before rendering judgement on the Baton Rouge Tea Party, and all others. Tea Party of Louisiana is a beast unto itself and has a history of operating outside the 'norm' of the rest of the tea party organizations by endorsing candidates, etc. and there can be assumed ties made to some of their members and paid support. If these groups want to claim to represent true grassroots conservatives, they need to simply 'educate and inform' and allow their memebers and the public in general to make their own decisions. You, unfortunately, are proof that by their name alone as well as this article, that TPoL damages the rest of the independent groups. Whether that is done maliciously or not remains to be seen. I would ask that you read this article recently posted: http://louisianaconservative.com/tea-party-endorsement-good-or-bad - H K Edwards

Leslie, I've contacted the BRTP to let them know I ran across this today. They should be contacting you soon to ask you to correct the errors. Thanks in advance. - Robin Harris Edwards

Just FYI...the Baton Rouge Tea Party is NOT Tea Party of Louisiana. This article is about the Tea Party of Louisiana. The Baton Rouge Tea Party, as far as I know, plays no role at all in this. Gerald, stick with the BRTP. They're a good group ;) Reporters often get their facts wrong about tea party issues and tea party names especially by groups who choose names like TPoL...it's misleading. But they are based out of Baton Rouge/Denham Springs. - Robin Harris Edwards

Thanks for printing this news. I am a supporter of the TEA party, locally and nationally. But reading this news about the B.R. TEA Party supporting Landry over Boustany really made me MAD! They have their opinions, but it upset me to find that they are injecting their opinions into our local elections. They should work to elect their own, or maybe give an opinion on a national figure, but stay out of other elections that do not affect their community. I am waiting for the Lafayette TEA Party to take a position on our contest. I am putting my money (and offer my services) to Boustany because of HIS support to Lafayette and the surrounding area. I think that he has done a good job of working for us and keeping us informed of events in Washington. - Gerald Cain
