Its the other way around. As of the latest population survey, the major of the parish residents live within the city of lafayette, hence the city residents pickup the tab for the rest of the parish, as i'm sure this will be the case for the new fire stations. After reading the article as reported in the advocate, only city residents will be paying for it.
