I'm sure sad I missed this Council Meeting so I could ridicule these nut jobs. The comments section are too hard for me to rant about so I just put it up on my G+ https://plus.google.com/113421787374734981983/posts - Bryan Fuselier

This article is totally unrearched... First thing is that the Tea Party of Lafayette is NOT spearheading this. It is a group of concerned citizens. The Tea Party members got door hangers on there doors and chose to copy it and put it on their website. They did not walk the streets informing the citizens, they did not put up the website- www.allaboutsmartmeters.com. Walter Pierce does not do his homework, did he bother to call the number that is on the doorhanger to gather his information for this BS article? This group of concerned citizens is only asking to be given a choice to NOT have the smart meter on their home and or businesses. If you want the meter then by all means have it. In a 2005 Energy Act were it talks about smart meters it states about giving the citizens an option to "opt-in", it was supose to to a choice... not forced. The concerns the citizens have are valid. - Jeffery L

Is there some special reason why only one Mardi Gras krewe wants taxpayer money to fund their krewe? Can't wait to see how the vote turns out on this fiasco. - Joe LeBlanc
