Zea Rotisserie and Grill's duck empanadas are not an ordinary appetizer.
The restaurant combines roast duck, heaps of cheese and onions and peppers in a folded pastry, then deep fries the pocket until it is light and flaky. The four empanadas are served with a squirt of sour cream on top and a zydeco dipping sauce that is both sweet and tangy. The appetizer is large enough as a meal for one or simple enough to share with the table. Find it on the menu for only $8.25.
Zea is located at 235 Doucet Road and is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
