The Lafayette Council on Aging is holding a hot dog fundraiser next Wednesday to continue providing for Lafayette’s seniors.
The Lafayette Council on Aging, in order to combat cutbacks, is holding a hot dog fundraiser next Wednesday in Girard Park and is now accepting pre-sale orders.
The meals, which will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., include a hot dog, cup of chili, chips, canned drink and a cookie for $6. Businesses that order eight or more hot dogs receive free delivery — anywhere in Lafayette. To order, call 262-5990 or fax information to 262-4106. The LCOA accepts cash, check or cards (with an additional fee).
The LCOA’s services include case management, a homemaking program, foster grandparent program, nutrition program, personal emergency response system and Meals on Wheels.
David Calhoun and Elizabeth “EB” Brooks are the first two employees of Lafayette Central Park Inc., the nonprofit charged with turning Lafayette Consolidated Government’s 100-acre Johnston Street Horse Farm property into a passive public park. Calhoun was named executive director, and Brooks is director of planning and design.
