Brunch en Masse will be held at Cochon Lafayette in River Ranch this Sunday and, similar to FracoJeunes’ monthly Piastres en Masse event, encourages the local French-speaking population to come out and enjoy the upscale eatery’s brunch menu one last time before its doors are closed for good, as well as give thanks for Cochon’s contributions the area’s francophone community.
Cochon was an essential venue for last year’s successful Lâche Pas, the CODOFIL fundraiser that was nimbly organized after Gov. Bobby Jindal’s line item veto that removed $100,000 from the agency’s budget.
“For Lâche Pas, they put their reputation on the line, trusting that we could pull it off in less than a month,” says FrancoJeunes Secretary Lucius Fontenot in a release. “They really became part of the community. And they became my friends. I will miss them.”
