A la Carte is moving from its Oil Center home to a fresh James Comeaux Road location.

A call to A la Carte this morning failed to answer why the restaurant is moving to its new location. The new address is as yet unknown.

For decades the café and catering restaurant has been an Oil Center staple at 301 Heymann Blvd., playing host to weddings, receptions, political fundraisers and krewe parties. Chef Brian Blanchard of iMonelli took over the restaurant in early 2007.

A La Carte is expected to move out of its current location by Jan. 10.
