For ladies looking to “Learn How to Fight Like A Girl,” the UL Lafayette Police Department is hosting a free self-defense class for women at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Bourgeois Hall.

According to a release from Hearts of Hope sexual abuse center, the class will be taught by Burke Von, a former No. 1 world ranked amateur and No. 1 world professional karate champion.

A sergeant for UP says pre-registration is not required. Women who would like to participate should arrive early and “wear something comfortable.”

For more information on the class, call UP at (337) 482-6447.
