Bleed Black & Gold blood drive

Written by Dege Legg
Tuesday, August 31, 2010

United Blood Services of Lafayette is holding a “Bleed Black & Gold” blood drive Aug. 30 – Sept. 10 at the UBS Donor Center. The drive will take place during normal business hours on most days with variations later in the week. Calling beforehand to check the day's schedule is suggested (235-5433).

Each blood donation can help several patients. Volunteers are asked to help meet the needs of patients and ensure an adequate blood supply to area hospitals by donating blood. Each volunteer who donates will receive a Black & Gold Saints T-shirt designed by local artist Tony Bernard. Donors are also automatically registered to win a pair of tickets to a New Orleans Saints home game.

You can make your life-saving donation at United Blood Services located at 1503 Bertrand Drive in Lafayette between Aug. 30 – Sept. 10. Appointments are encouraged. Call 235-LIFE or visit www.bloodhero.com. Donors are asked to bring a photo ID and donor card every time they donate.

United Blood Services has been this area’s nonprofit community blood provider since 1953, and serves patients in more than 60 hospitals in the South Louisiana.
