Izzo’s Illegal Burrito announced it will partner with Miles Perret Cancer Services for next Saturday’s grand opening at its second location in town.
Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. at its location at 4409 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, Suite 100, in the shopping center near Target. The first five customers to walk in the door will receive free burritos for a year, and 25 percent of the proceeds that day will be donated to Miles Perret Cancer Services.
Izzo’s co-owners, Ozzie Fernandez and Gary Kovacs, said they are proud to support Miles Perret and the work it performs for the community, and they have plans to give back in the future.
“We are excited to become an even bigger part of this community as we serve Lafayette’s Southside neighborhoods and businesses,” says Fernandez, who added they are grateful to the Lafayette community for the success they’ve had at the Johnston Street location.
The first Izzo’s Illegal Burrito opened in July 2001 in Baton Rouge, and has since grown to 13 locations in Louisiana and Alabama. For more information, visit Izzo’s website
Romacelli is also giving back to Miles Perret, but only through tomorrow. The restaurant is donating $1 to Miles Perret for every new Facebook page "like," which you can find here.
