OK, if three weeks make a tradition, we got one a-goin’. Health club magnate and civic benefactor Red Lerille will ring the opening bell at 8 a.m. Saturday, commencing the bull rush on beets, broccoli and black berries during the third Market at the Horse Farm. The tradition was begun on June 1 when Lester Durel, C-P Prez Joey Durel’s dad, rang the bell.

The event provides local growers an opportunity to sell their produce at a farmer’s market, and allows residents of Lafayette to check out the 100-acre Horse Farm, which hopefully in a couple of years will be a public park. Market at the Horse Farm also helps raise funds for the project. Local crafts folk will also be selling their wares.

The Horse Farm is located at 2913 Johnston St.
