One of Lafayette’s best pastry and baked goods shops has to be Poupart’s. This long-standing icon is known for decadent cakes, breads and pastries.

Make time today to stop in and share a few delights with a friend over a cup of coffee. IND Eats suggests the Strawberry Delight — this slice of sweetness is layers of white cake, whipped cream, fresh strawberries and a powdered sugar dusting on top.

Another favorite is the chocolate chip canoli which is a pastry tube stuffed with a mascapone and chocolate chip mixture and also dusted with sugar.

Top off your afternoon delight with a fruit tart made from a pastry shell and custard and fresh glazed fruit.

Poupart’s has locations on Pinhook Road and Downtown — you’re never far from a stop for something sweet. Check out the lunch options as well if something savory strikes your fancy.
