The ever fabulous ladies of kiki are rolling out not one, but two trunk shows this week. The first of which is Pomellato (with cocktails at 5 p.m.) tomorrow. The jewelry house known for their unique rose gold settings (stay tuned for December's IND Monthly to read all about the latest in gorgeous rosy gold) has tapped Tilda Swinton for their ad campaign if that tells you anything about their leanings. Kudos, Pomellato, for choosing a fearless dresser in lieu of the more traditional gals out there.
Later in the week, we'll have our eyes peeled for the Rebecca Minkoff Trunk Show. Slated for December 1 in Lafayette, kiki will have the latest in handbags, clothing and shoes for holiday and resort. And if the multi-colored sequin jacket they have now (screams screams holiday) is any indication, you won't want to miss this one either.
David Calhoun and Elizabeth “EB” Brooks are the first two employees of Lafayette Central Park Inc., the nonprofit charged with turning Lafayette Consolidated Government’s 100-acre Johnston Street Horse Farm property into a passive public park. Calhoun was named executive director, and Brooks is director of planning and design.
There will soon be a whole lot of shakin’ going on at Benny’s Sportshack Supplement Depot, a new concept by Opelousas native Benny Nele. Located at 2002 Johnston St., the supplement shop, smoothie bar and café, featuring hot off the press paninis and wraps, plans to open in late May.
