Wearable art is something for which Mignon Faget is well known. The beloved New Orleans designer has a Lafayette store full of the evidence. And as of late she’s brought another designer into the fold with just the same sort of vision — creating jewelry that is more than jewelry.

Pieces by John Humphries are easy to spot with a kind of aesthetic that verges on tough at times and timeless always. The kind of thing a woman’s woman would wear, and yet, there is nothing girly about these pieces. John Humphries Designs are on point when they describe the process of the designer as “precise and balanced, creating contemporary wearable art.”

That art and the artist himself are slated to make an appearance Thursday night at Rhythms on the River where he’ll show off the Spring/Summer 2013 collection as Mignon Faget sponsors the music event in River Ranch. Then on Friday, he’ll have a meet and greet at the Mignon Faget store in Parc Lafayette to chat with admirers.
