Lafayette-based branding agency The Russo Group is growing westward with an expansion into Dallas and two new team members to head its new market operations.
Russo Group Senior Partner Jaci Russo says in a press release that the expansion means the addition of two branding consultants with decades of experience and notable résumés to boot, Tom Marcantel and Gordon Law.
“We are thrilled to be expanding into Dallas and to have the opportunity to work with two seasoned veterans,” Russo says. “The knowledge and experience that Tom and Gordon bring to our team is extraordinary. This will help us continue to serve our regional and national clients even better.”
Marcantel is joining Russo after his latest position as large brand strategist for Little Rock-based CJRW. His work with CJRW included creative development for Tony Roma’s, Bennigan’s Grill & Tavern, Mr. Rooter Plumbing and Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
Gordon ran his own consulting firm before signing on to Russo, and in his more than 30 years of advertising and marketing experience has worked with McDonald’s, Fujitsu, Taco Bell, Sprint, McAfee, Chuck E. Cheese’s, American Heart Association, Greyhound, Subway and a number of other companies.
The Russo Group has done extensive work for local and statewide companies and agencies, including the Downtown Development Authority, Louisiana HonorAir, Lafayette Regional Airport, OncoLogics Inc. and, among many others, CC’s Community Coffee House.
David Calhoun and Elizabeth “EB” Brooks are the first two employees of Lafayette Central Park Inc., the nonprofit charged with turning Lafayette Consolidated Government’s 100-acre Johnston Street Horse Farm property into a passive public park. Calhoun was named executive director, and Brooks is director of planning and design.
There will soon be a whole lot of shakin’ going on at Benny’s Sportshack Supplement Depot, a new concept by Opelousas native Benny Nele. Located at 2002 Johnston St., the supplement shop, smoothie bar and café, featuring hot off the press paninis and wraps, plans to open in late May.
