A local nonprofit working to humanely control the overpopulation of pets in Acadiana is hoping to “Primp Your Pit” during the month of August, offering spay/neutering services and a complimentary nail trim to 100 pit bulls and pit bull mixes for $20.
According to a release from SpayNation, the pit bull program is being sponsored by PetSmart Charities. All pit bull parents in Acadiana are eligible to participate in the promotion, but they must mention “Primp Your Pit” when scheduling an appointment:
We do what we do because we believe that aggressive spay/neuter is the most efficient, humane and effective method of reducing the homeless and unwanted pet population, which drastically reduces the number of dogs and cats entering shelters and animal control facilities every day.
We are working for and towards a community without homeless pets, where all residents have access to high quality, low cost spay/neuter. Since April 2010 SpayNation for Dogs & Cats has spayed and neutered over 11,500 dogs and cats.
