All that shimmers

All that glitters may not be gold, but it is metallic. Home interiors as of late are seeing a resurgence in all that gleams.

"People are crazy about anything sparkly," says Larayn Guidroz of Swags and Tassels.

And pulling it off isn't always easy. Keeping things neutral is a simple way to bring metallic home without the look of Atlantic City. Think a shimmering grey fabric or warm metallic gold piece.

One of the safest ways to bring metallics in is in the details. A metallic pillow on the couch. A silver end table. A pair of bold gold lamps. Elle Decor featured a bevy of gleaming pieces in a recent piece that nailed the precious metals in a way that's utterly chic.
