Style File: In the saddle

I am obsessed with riding boots. That's where it started. I would never claim to have knowledge on any level about the equestrian realm. But, style. Style, I know. And there is a decidedly equestrian flavor that's been brewing season after season that cannot be ignored whether you've ever saddled up in your life. Gucci is perhaps the house that rules the trend with a capsule collection (available online) and an exclusive agreement to dress the world's number one female rider, Edwina Alexander.

While Edwina's attire is more function than fashion, it provides the foundation for the vibe that's perfect for weekend wear. It starts with the boots. Simple. Polished. Low heel. Over skinny jeans or snug pants (or even leggings will do). Add a button down top and a snug little blazer and you're set. We're loving the riding boots from Herringstone's pictured.

The other very Gucci and equestrian inspired pieces we're seeing are bracelets like the ones pictured from The Bird's Nest. Just the right wink to equestrian no matter your style.
