Acadiana Resource Conservation & Development Council agenda banguet

The Acadiana Resource Conservation & Development Council will hold their annual banquet at the Center for Ecology and Environmental Technology on Oct. 29. The Acadiana Resource Conservation and Development Council (RC&D) is a nonprofit voluntary program that helps people protect and develop Acadiana’s economic, natural, and social resources. The program is administered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in cooperation with other USDA agencies such as Wildlife and Fisheries, the National Resource Conservation Service, and the Nature Conservancy. RC&D objectives focus on improving the quality of life of residents in designated regions and uniting people at a grassroots level, while also encouraging volunteers and civic leaders to revitalize and build communities through cooperative projects.

At the banquet the Acadiana Resource Conservation & Development Council will present a general overview of their various projects such as the Louisiana Native Plant Initiative, the Bayou Teche Watershed Project, and the Acadiana Grassland Restoration Initiative. The Banquet begins at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 29. Admission is free and open to the public.
