“A deal is a deal,” Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels wrote in a Feb. 16 letter to Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, notifying him that a New Orleans Saints flag is flying in the atrium of the Indiana state Capitol.

Steve Picou green presentation

Lifelong environmentalist and Bas Clas founder Steve Picou will give a one-hour presentation on Jan. 23 at the Southside Library on “How to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint.” A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact that groups, corporations, and individuals have on the environment and on climate change. Picou’s presentation will detail how it all relates to the amount of greenhouse gases produced in our daily lives through burning fossil fuels used in electricity, heating, and transportation.
