DRINK THE WATER, ENJOY THE SURF

Once again we find ourselves in the center of a media storm threatening the confidence of consumers nationwide. The revised Mexico Travel Alert issued by the U.S. Department of State was updated recently and was designed to inform travelers of the issues to “ensure that travel to Mexico is safe and enjoyable.” Common sense is now and always has been the order of the day when traveling outside the USA. While this alert shouldn’t be taken lightly, it needs to be taken in the proper perspective.

When you consider that the distance from Nuevo Laredo to Cancun is 910 miles and the distance from Juarez to Cancun in 1,463 miles, you realize that there is a tremendous distance from the troubled areas. Telling someone to stay clear of Cancun because of what is going on in Nogales is almost the same as telling someone to stay clear of Cincinnati because of some crime in L.A.
