LSU is our state's best hope to move forward from the mistakes of the past, and any bickering and back alley politics that have plagued this state and been an embarrassment to its citizens needs to be quelled. If you talk to the people of this state, a majority will say to do what it takes to strengthen LSU's position or at least leave things as they are. I attended ULL in the late '80s, and it is a fine university, but it does not have the ability to bring the kind of positive changes to our state we desperately need. I was raised in New Iberia and would not want to see LSU damaged in any way, nor would the majority of my friends and neighbors in the area.
