LCG settles Hundley wiretap suit

Written by Nathan Stubbs
Thursday, July 29, 2010

A four year-old lawsuit over a secret wiretap placed at the desk of Lafayette Police Department employee Jeanette Luque has been settled out of court. The Advocate reports today that LCG agreed to pay $23,000, plus court costs, to settle the case. Luque filed the suit in 2006, after former Chief Randy Hundley and three other officers were indicted on charges of conspiring to set up the illegal wiretap. Hundley resigned and pleaded guilty in 2008 to charges of attempted malfeasance in office, while charges against the other officers were dismissed. (Hundley has maintained his innocence.)

Luque has served as secretary to five Lafayette police chiefs (and still works for LCG under current Chief Jim Craft) and former District Attorney Nathan Stansbury. Her attorney, Jill Craft, did not return a call for comment this morning.

Not enough money. Not enough to hurt, not enough to prevent it from happening again. This woman's rep was ruined by a paranoid schizo. She served under 5 chiefs and worked for years for little pay. And then along comes this unqualified insecure little "Napoleon" who has to have an SS gang spying on his personnel. Ugly is as ugly does.....
