Roemer mulling third-party bid?

Written by Walter Pierce

Barred from Republican primary ballots in Florida and South Carolina and so far blocked from participating in any of the GOP debates, former congressman and Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer is reportedly mulling an independent or third-party path to the White House.

In a recent interview with the website The Daily Caller, Roemer campaign manager Carlos Sierra said the recent setbacks in Florida and South Carolina are “definitely getting him thinking a little more about other options,” although Sierra later warned, “I wouldn’t read too much into” recent campaign literature that characterizes Roemer as an “Independent-minded Presidential Candidate.”

Roemer has made campaign finance reform a centerpiece of his candidacy, railing about the corrupting influence of corporate money on the American electoral process. He has even embraced Occupy Wall Street and recently released a campaign video that wholly aligns him with the movement.

Third party? Roemer barely makes it as a 5th party candidate.

I hope he does! His message is strong -- get corporate $$ influence out of Washington!! But he's challenging the status quo. Of course they want to shut him up. That's why we're not hearing about him.
