NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A nominating committee will have at least five names to consider when it decides who to recommend for a seat on a controversial Louisiana flood control board that is suing dozens of oil and gas companies over coastal wetland loss.

The panel's choice will go to Gov. Bobby Jindal who has made it clear he wants to name an opponent of the lawsuit to the board of the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East.

The nominating panel meets at noon Thursday in Harahan.
