Although the election is still six months away, Camp Landrieu might be breathing a little easier seeing the results of a poll commissioned by a conservative Baton Rouge businessman.

The poll commissioned by Lane Grigsby and conducted by Megellan Strategies of Baton Rouge finds Sen. Mary Landrieu leading three Republican challengers, including a comfortable 13-point cushion over U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge, her presumed runoff competitor.

The poll surely provides some small comfort for Landrieu, who has been the target of a fusillade of negative campaign ads, many of them bankrolled by the infamous Koch Brothers’ Americans for Prosperity group, tethering her to Obamacare. But the devil is in the details: Landrieu's unfavorability rating among respondents remains above 50 percent.
