Lafayette Police announced Wednesday morning that occupants of a white, four-door pickup and an older model sedan whose vehicles were captured in surveillance video with missing college student Mickey Shunick have been located, interviewed and ruled out of the investigation. Police are still seeking the driver of a white Chevrolet Z-71 pickup also spotted in the surveillance footage shot from a City Hall security camera at the corner of St. Landry Street and University Avenue.

Shunick vanished May 19 after leaving a friend’s house near downtown Lafayette just before 2 a.m. Her black Schwinn bicycle was recovered from the Atchafalaya Basin near the Whiskey Bay exit Sunday. Police divulged Tuesday that the bike had damage to its back tire. The FBI and local law enforcement continue to seek clues into the 22-year-old’s disappearance as the case continues to generate state and national headlines.
