Twin parties to mark end of hurricane season

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Simultaneous parties in New Orleans and New York are scheduled to mark the end of hurricane season — and to raise money for storm recovery.

Evacuteer.org, an organization that assists with hurricane evacuations in New Orleans, says its 4th annual Bye-Bye Hurricane Season party in New Orleans will run from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Nov. 30.

Meanwhile, a group of New Orleans residents plans a simultaneous party to raise money for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which is working to help residents of Brooklyn, Long Beach and Staten Island recover from Superstorm Sandy.
