NBC's Dateline has a special report on the heartbreaking case of murdered UL student Mickey Shunick Tuesday at 9 p.m. "A Sister's Search" focuses on the desperate efforts of the 21-year-old UL student's sister, Charlie, to find her after she disappeared on her bike in the early morning hours of May 19.

In October Dateline's Josh Mankiewicz
interviewed prosecutors Keith Stutes and Danny Landry
about the Shunick case for a special report,
"A Sister's Search," which airs Tuesday at 9 p.m.

In addition to Shunick's family, those interviewed for the piece include Lafayette Police Department detective Stephen Bajat and Capt. Kelly Gibson, as well as former Assistant District Attorney Keith Stutes and ADA Danny Landry, both of whom successfully prosecuted Brandon Scott Lavergne for Shunick's murder and the killing of Lisa Pate in 1999. Lavergne is serving two life sentences at Angola.

Here is what the newsmagazine says about the upcoming story:

When college student Mickey Shunick vanished last summer, her sister became the tip of the spear in a multinational search effort. She opens up to “Dateline” about the case and the night her sister went missing. Josh Mankiewicz reports A Sister's Search on Tuesday, January 29th, at 10pm/9c.
