Northside High School and the705, Young Leaders for a Better Acadiana, are teaming up Tuesday for a job shadowing project.

Essays were submitted by about 40 of the school’s juniors, detailing what type of career they were interested in pursuing out of high school. Responses were varied, and included police officers, pharmacists, architects, athletic trainers, nurses, teachers and chefs, among others.

After reviewing each submission, the705 paired the students with a local professional from its membership.

According to a press release, here’s how the705 describes the partnership with Northside: "The project is part of the705’s mission of community service. By providing the students with this first-hand knowledge they will be better equipped to make an informed decision as they continue their education through college and enter in to the workforce."
