NEW IBERIA, La. (AP) — Iberia Parish sheriff's deputies have arrested a teenager accused in the death of a woman whose body was discovered inside a home in New Iberia.

The sheriff's office said the 17-year-old boy, of New Iberia, was arrested Friday on a charge of first-degree murder. He is being held in the Iberia Parish Jail. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.

The 29-year-old victim was found in a residence Thursday afternoon and pronounced dead by the parish coroner's office. Her name has not been released.
