What do you want Lafayette's central park to look like?

horse_farm_screen_capture_imagineHave your vision heard by attending the kick-off of the master planning phase of the project to convert the 100-acre Horse Farm into a public park on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 9 a.m. at the Johnston Street property.

The Lafayette Public Trust Financing Authority will present a $2.6 million check to Lafayette Central Park’s board chair Lenny Lemoine to get the ball rolling on the project. Austin-based Design Workshop and a team of locals won the contract to design the park.

LCP, the nonprofit charged with overseeing the transformation into a public park, will have a tent set up at the Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at the Horse Farm to encourage participation in the upcoming October community forums. These forums are designed specifically to seek public input on the park’s plan.

LCP says it will also be distributing informational on the times, dates and locations of the upcoming forums.
