KLFY fake tweet

Poor TV10, once a ratings juggernaut among Lafayette television-news consumers, reduced now to doddering among its ceramic cat collection in a musty TV parlor, muttering about the good old days as it adjusts the afghan on its lap.

Just a day after the community was forced to acknowledge via the firing of longtime anchor/investigative reporter/Ron Burgundy prototype Chuck Huebner that the station has indeed fallen so far from so high, the venerable CBS affiliate’s Twitter account was hacked.

KLFY has a Twitter account.

We’re not sure how many faux tweets were issued by the dastardly hackers; the station refers to “tweets” but we found only one in which TV10 “reports” that the United States and Russia could be going to war. That had some in the Twittersphere momentarily freaking out, although we suspect it elicited some righteous fist pumps from Sen. John McCain.

KLFY quickly realized the subterfuge and urged its followers to ignore its tweets until further notice, unaware that its followers had been ignoring its tweets all along.

We’re just kidding, TV10! We know you’ll turn it around and become competitive again. You have Darla Montgomery after all.
