The Keith Stutes campaign for district attorney says it is bringing in the cash, having significantly outraised incumbent District Attorney Mike Harson for the campaign finance period beginning April 29 and ending July 27.

The former longtime assistant DA raised $90,725 in cash contributions, nearly double the $54,615 raised by his old boss over the same period.

“The Stutes Campaign also gained significant ground in cash on hand, cutting the incumbent’s previous cash advantage in half,” the campaign states in a prepared release.

The challenger says he reported $222,000 in cash on hand, compared to $309,000 for the incumbent.

“These strong results demonstrate clearly that it’s time for new leadership in the District Attorney’s office,” Keith Stutes said in announcing the latest fundraising figures. “We are receiving strong encouragement and support from all parts of the 15th JDC, and all party affiliations. There is a broad-based desire for real change,” he continued. “I’m especially encouraged by the support we are receiving from former supporters of the incumbent.”

Stutes has raised more than $400,000.
