Advertiser IDs state rep as 'bag head'

Update: The Advertiser has posted an editor's note at the end of the online article, "Ban on older officials sought," explaining the cutline error.

Someone really fell asleep at the production desk. Either that or The Daily Advertiser has suddenly taken its editorializing on public officials to a whole new level. Check out the ID on the photo of state Rep. Rickey Hardy from a featured story this morning on The Advertiser's Web site:

According to urbandictionary.com, "bag head" is a "term for a drug user. Possibly originating from the manner in which solvent addicts imbibe glue; they put the substance into a bag then repeatedly breath in and out with the bag over their mouth."

I'd imagine it's a remnant of the Advertiser's photo system. That's a headshot, so it would make sense for it to be tagged "head" in the archives. The bag, well, I dunno.

This was part of The Advertiser's run up to the Super Bowl. Rickey Hardy, Joey Durel, Mike Harson and others were featured wearing their Saints bags.

But no idea why or how this reappeared.
