Toxic dispersant banned in Gulf

The Environmental Protection Agency informed BP officials late yesterday, reports The Washington Post, that the company has 24 hours to choose a less toxic form of chemical dispersants to break up its oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and must apply the new form of dispersants within 72 hours of submitting the list of alternatives.

The concern is that the dispersants, pose a significant threat to marine life in the gulf.

BP has been using two forms of dispersants, Corexit 9500A and Corexit 9527A, and to date has applied 600,000 gallons on the surface and 55,000 underwater, according to the Post. Read the rest of the story here.

The EPA, is a Government Watchdog, who's fangs have been removed by the Government and who has been placed on a short leash...........
There have been many instances where the agency has been reined in and hobbled by our government, and their hands tied and restricted from doing their job and protecting the environment, far too many times the U.S. Government has picked, and choosen when and how the EPA may carry out their probes and regulating of the oil Industry Firms..........

Did you know that the Chemical make-up of the Corexit 9500A and Corexit 9527A, is just one ingredient from being Antifeeze, the green stuff you put in your radiator of your automobile.
The damage is done and its almost to late. No more Louisiana gulf seafood for me, People use antifreeze to poison stray cats, they put it in there food and water.
