From the über lobby file: Breaux-Lott sold to Patton Boggs

Calling it “the most compelling and unparalleled combination of talent and depth that Washington has to offer,” for U.S. Sen. John Breaux of Louisiana, along with his former Republican counterpart from Mississippi, Trent Lott, has announced the sale of Breaux-Lott Leadership Group, one of the fastest-rising lobbying firms in Washington, D.C. The business interest in the firm is being purchased by major lobbying firm Patton Boggs, according to an article in The Hill.

According to incoming Patton Boggs Managing Partner Ed Newberry, Breaux-Lott will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Patton Boggs. Breaux-Lott was formed early in 2008 following Lott’s retirement from the Senate. His eventual partner in the firm, Breaux, had served as senior counsel for Patton Boggs following his retirement from the upper congressional chamber in 2005.

Here's what I call it: the biggest bag of scum suckers since Judas. Selling out the people they served by using that experience to pile up their wealth as much as is humanly possible. Give me numbers! Let me know how much these Midas clones are reaping.

It is good to see how former politicians are making out like bandits but it is giving bandits a bad name.
