Keaty, Bouillion post financial edge in judge's race

In the local 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal race, District Judge Phyllis Keaty and City Court Judge Francie Bouillion continue to loom over the competition in the fundraising department. In the latest round of campaign finance reports, Keaty lists total contributions of $64,907 ($8,962 of which come from in-kind contributions) with $57,405 on hand at the close of the reporting period (May 6 through June 29). Bouillion meanwhile reported total contributions of $10,896, along with a personal loan of $40,000. Adding to her previous totals, Bouillion posts the largest warchest, with $64,638 on hand for her campaign.

The race's two other candidates, attorneys Steven "Buzz" Durio and Jeanne Laborde, also have been actively raising funds. Laborde reports total contributions of $39,797, with $7,314 left in the bank. Durio raised $19,446 with $8,886 on hand at the close of reporting.

Looks like Bouillion and Durio are struggling with fundraising, and relying on personal funds to stay in the race.
