Stretch of road in front of City Club closing

On Tuesday the stretch of de Gaulle Square that runs between the City Club at River Ranch and the Town Square will officially close.

River Ranch officials announced over the weekend that the small stretch of road, abandoned by the city, will be striped and marked closed to automobile traffic.

Residents and visitors will no longer be able to park on the stretch of road, which previously provided direct access from Stonemont Road to Silverstone Road. The striping will be painted Tuesday, and barricades marking the road closed will be set out both at Silverstone and de Gaulle and Stonemont and de Gaulle.

Eventually, according to River Ranch officials, large planters will block off the small stretch of road.

Kieawwww, River Ranch has its very own personal, "OFFICIALS, are they nominated by JODU'NT, Ha-Ha, an "OFFICIAL is a person holding a CIVIL APPOINTMENT / or a " PUBLIC OFFICE, i am getting vibes that the River Ranch "OFFICIALS think of themselves as Sovereign Royalty as in rulers of a domain !
Like The Kennedys, Camelot HEE-HEE ! Is that why there are no vacuum vents, in the RIVER RANCH TOILETS/BIDETS ?

Stinks. Why was the road abandoned? If its worth reporting, then give me page two, or even page one, why? What is the purpose? Why was the road abandoned? What does it accomplish? Complete the news article. Give me some back ground.

the strecth of road that will be closed is probably less than 150 long and will provide a safer pedestrian crossing area between the City Club Grill & Bar and the Town Sq. This has nothing to do "sovereign royalty" or "rulers of a domain", it honestly has more to do with public safety. Perhaps if you were familiar with the strectch of road being referred to, you would understand the direction being taken by the officials of River Ranch.

Who are the figgin "officials" of RR???? That's the point? Is there a neighborhood committee? Since RR is part of the City of Lafayette, we would expect the "officials" of RR to be the same "officials" running the city of Lafayette.... I've driven there many times and I understand the matter of safety in some of those areas. The road becomes very narrow when vehicles are parked on both sides of the road and its scary and aggravating when pedestrians just parade on through with very little regard for oncoming traffic. Its happened to me more than once. If I hit someone, and they're in the wrong, and they're not hurt, I may have to strangle them anyway. There is a very large "air" of entitlement in that area of town, in that development.

the street was abandoned by the city and therfore no longer part of Lafayette, just RR. this has NOTHING to do with entitlement. you are obviously angry and misdirecting your anger toward RR.
