New oil slick or 'substance' reported in the Gulf

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water to swim, drill and splash around to your heart’s content, along comes the report of a new oil slick 20 miles north of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion. The new slick, initially discovered by local fisherman, is said to stretch nearly 100 miles long and 12 miles wide according to reports received by the Coast Guard; however, officials have not confirmed the substance is oil.

The area where the sheen or substance originated is near Mississippi Canyon 243, lying 30 miles southeast of the Louisiana coastline.

Politicians have been report bathing in the area too. Most likely that's the problem.

Good work Dege! It is always pleasant to see confirmation of scientific work, as opposed to BP agit-prop & political spin from the Jindal Administration heeled with flushed oil money.

This crap should be with us for 25 more years based on the other 19 major spills around the world for the last 90 years.

But then of course we are suppose to not be able to read our history books or learned scientific compendia; or, even, to have the capacity to read learned scientific articles for that matter. Ignorance is bliss!

It ain't new; its the same old oil released last year. Its going to come up many times for the next 50 to 100 years. And when drilling begins, it will stir up more of the killing sludge.
