Source: Roemer to appear on ‘Daily Show’

On the heels of a crowd-pleasing, no-gaffes appearance on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report last week, erstwhile congressman and Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer, according to sources close to the campaign, will appear soon on the network’s flagship “news” program, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Well-known by now in Louisiana is Roemer’s long-shot bid to win the Republican presidential nomination. Not as well-known to voters outside the Bayou State is the candidate himself, whose “Free to Lead” campaign is predicated on not accepting donations of more than $100 — a crippling, if laudable, stance from a campaign manager perspective. But Roemer made a good impression on host Stephen Colbert and his left-leaning audience last week as the dark horse candidate railed against the corrupting influence of special-interest money in U.S. campaigns.

The date of Roemer’s planned appearance on The Daily Show is still unknown, although our sources tell us it will be this week. The program’s website only identifies guests for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and there’s no mention of it on Roemer’s campaign website. Stay tuned.

After watching him last week he seems the most intelligent of the Repugs. Which is not saying much.

A socially liberal, fiscally conservative republican. That is what the country needs.

This man needs mental help or a hobby, with that being said he is the best choice out of all the conservatives.
