Jindal fundraising for Nungesser’s personal debt

Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser spent $1.3 million of his own money in his mud-filled and unsuccessful bid to unseat Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne. Now, he’s asked Gov. Bobby Jindal for help in raising the balance of Nungesser’s personal bank account.

According to The Advocate, Jindal has agreed to host a fundraiser for Nungesser in New Orleans and is asking patrons for up to $5,000 a plate.

Nungesser spent $2.75 million on his campaign for the lieutenant governor’s race, The Advocate reports, almost doubling the $1.45 million spent by Dardenne. Nungesser self-funded nearly half of his campaign, while Dardenne did not spend a penny of his own money:

Nungesser said he wants to get the debt erased so he’ll be ready “if there becomes an opportunity whether a special election or some other reason. There’s a lot of talk about people going to Washington.”

The Jan. 17 fundraiser will be held at Mardi Gras World at the Port of New Orleans. A “private patron” party will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for those attending at the $5,000 contribution host committee level. The contribution brings four tickets to the fundraiser as well as a photograph with Jindal and Nungesser.

The general event begins at 7 p.m. with event sponsors paying $2,500 for two tickets and other attendees paying $1,000 per ticket.

A “save the date” notice sent to potential contributors said: “Politics is an ever-changing environment and timing is so important. Friends of Billy Nungesser wants to insure that as opportunities are presented in the future, we will have the resources to act and bring our message to voters.”

So,he is asking people to give him money so he can run again and possibly lose? Only politicians have the balls to ask for that! I would prefer to spend my money on clothes. At least I could look and the mirror and see where my money went!! He needs to work 2 jobs or at least come to Lafayette and try to get in the CLIQUE!!
