This week in awesome: an alternative to RedFlex

Lafayette Consolidated Government’s embrace of the controversial camera enforcement at intersections and via those insidious speed vans has rubbed a lot of our gentle citizens — namely those who ignore the posted speed limit and who run red lights — the wrong way.

Should the City-Parish Council, in its weird new dis-equilibrium, move to banish the revenue-generating Big Brother from Lafayette’s streets, French humorist Remi Gaillard has a solution:

thats pretty much the position the mayors of small towns took when they issued excessive tickets to generate funds for their towns. the mayor of washington was used as an example of how the politicians knew law enforcement tactics were at least questionable. to believe their primary motivation was safety is somewhere between foolish and ignorant. the obvious reason was to increase revenue for the city.

How much was Redflex paid in 2011? How much commission was Mr. Buckles paid by Redflex in 2011? And if the administration wants the funds moved to pay for something else does this mean, 1. the administration misinformed the public when Redflex was first introduced. or 2. they don't need a 1/2 cent tax increase because Redflex funds can be used in lieu of more taxation. or 3.

This is hilarious...THE TRACTOR! Why does he chase the cars? Also, it is pretty fitting that he is arrested for doing something that is done to all of us on a daily basis.
