The New Orleans Saints’ sensational tight end, Jimmy Graham, has been named the National Football League’s Offensive Player of the Month for September, a feat never achieved by a tight end since the award was created in 1986.

Graham’s 27 receptions for 458 yards and six touchdowns leads all tight ends. He’s second in receiving yards to Atlanta wide receiver Julio Jones and is tied for the league lead in touchdowns with Denver slot receiver Wes Welker. The former power forward on the University of Miama basketball team who played one year of collegiate football is on pace to break the league record for most touchdown receptions in a team’s first five games, seven, held by Antonio Gates and Mike Ditka.
