Vermilion Catholic wasted little time taking control of Saturday’s Division IV state championship game, eventually putting a record-breaking 63 points on the board. St. Frederick managed only 18 points.

The previous record stood at 62 points, set by South Plaquemines in 2008 and tied by Calvary Baptist Thursday, The Times-Picayune reported.
