The Friday night R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl concert drew a huge crowd, and the same will probably be true in a couple of hours when UL and East Carolina kick it off in the Superdome.

That's 2,275 more than UL sold for last year's New Orleans Bowl.

The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl's Friday luncheon honored the two competing teams, but an LSU product and a Hall of Fame quarterback drew the biggest responses.

 

UL fans have begun arriving in droves for Saturday's R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, and Thursday night's parade aimed most of them toward several Bourbon Street establishments ... to the surprise of absolutely no one.

With fan voting now closed for the Pro Bowl, Morstead leads all NFC punters with 104,563 votes, making him a front-runner to get the nod for the NFL's all-star game, depending on how voting by coaches and players turns out.
